Grease In Drain and Sewer Lines In Vancouver

Restaurants and other food preparation establishments have a continuous issue of grease in drain-lines. Grease can build-up and clogged the main sewer-lines leading to and beyond the street sanitation systems.

The kind of equipment used to clean grease build-up can range from a main sewer auger with heavy duty sewer cleaning cables, all the way up to steaming units mounted on large trucks. High pressure flushing is another way to move the grease down the line.

Drain maintenance can be safely done with "Limon" extract. The properties of Limon are great for "de-greasing" grease traps, drain-lines and main sewer-lines.

Flooded Parking Lots In Vancouver

Flooded parking lots are a real problem in many urban areas in Canada. In the early spring when winter snow melts turning to water and then and making its way over to the parking lot drain. The water now washes mud, gravel and debris that has accumulated over the winter season into the manhole (catch basin) or storm grate. After  few hours of melting snow, quite often the temperatures fall back to freezing causing the water to turn to ice in the storm water man hole as well storm water pipes. Once the ice has completely blocked the manhole drain as well as the storm sewer lines, the drains are officially plugged. Water will no longer drain away, causing the water to sit in the drain, over-flowing in to the parking lot, causing a flooded parking lot. Other types of problems that can cause a parking lot to flood include leaves, gravel, branches, garbage that has found its way into the manhole. Flash flooding can also overwhelm the drain if it is partially plugged.

Equipment used to clear a frozen parkeing lot or roof drains in Vancouver are:

  • Pull behind power-jetters with tanks that are usually filled with heated water.

  • Large trucks with a sewage vac system that will suck up the water, and allow a clear picture of what is casuing the clog.

  • Some large vac trucks have a powerflushing unit and water tank that is filled with heated water. Other large trucks have only a high presure waterjetting system and a tank filled with heated water to de-ice.

  • Steaming units that will push high pressure steam into the manhole and melt the ice to allow the water to drain again.
